Like Islam and Judaism, the Baha'i Faith has laws that govern not just our spiritual lives, but our day to day lives. Examples include:
A prohibition of backbiting and gossip.
Sexual intercourse is prohibited outside of marriage.
Adult Baha'is of good health should participate in a sunup-sundown fast every year, starting March 2nd and ending March 20th.
Consumption of alcohol is absolutely prohibited unless prescribed by a physician.
These are some examples. Most of the other laws can be found my reading the Kitab-i-Aqdas.
- Daily Obligatory Prayer: There are three obligatory prayers, and which of the three is to be recited is up to the individual. At least one, however, must be said. The prayers are:
- The Short Obligatory Prayer, to be said at noon every day.
- The Medium Obligatory Prayer, to be said three times, morning, noon, and evening, daily.
- The Long Obligatory Prayer, to be said once in a 24 hour period.
These are some examples. Most of the other laws can be found my reading the Kitab-i-Aqdas.
